have a custom exhaust made? find a local shop that knows how to make such a thing and have them make what you want?

X and H pipes are on cars for Science not just because the exhaust mfg. want to sell a piece of hardware. They help with Exhaust Scavenging (google it)
Why not run electric cut outs?

I would think running that setup would have you lose a noticeable amount of low end tq...

But bring it to a shop, or search online for Boom Tubes(?) they are simple exhaust piping but is flattened into more of an oval for ground clearance issues.

my mustang has side exit exhaust. i purchased the SMO1 skirts from roush and then you can either get the spintech exhaust ($300). or get a thrush glasspack with custom tubing. the spintech have a side exit kit specifically for the SMO1 skirt... depends on what you wanna spend

Do you have or plan to have subframe connectors? I remember reading somewhere that side exit are difficult (if not impossible) with those on. I'm not 100% certain. Anyone know that answer to this, because I was thinking about side exit until I read that.
