Default 96-98 Gauge Cluster Question

If I switch out the factory gt cluster and plug in a cobra cluster will the speedometer and tach read correctly considering the cobra cluster's MPH goes higher?

That should be a PATS-I vehicle in which the instrument cluster does not play a part in the PATS. PATS-II, in which the cluster and PCM are married via a shared security code, was installed in the '99-'04 Mustangs.

I have no idea as to whether the speedometer will work correctly. I believe it's a mechanical drive (could be wrong here) which would sway me toward yes, however did the GT and Cobra have he same rear-end gears in '96-'98?

You'll have to swap the cluster module off the GT cluster to the Cobra cluster
