Default Car is Dead.

Woke up this morning.. car was completely dead. Tried jumping it and i can get the electronics to come on but if i turn the key further everything completely dies, you cant even get the electronics back on at that point unless you take off the jumpers and put them back on. I replaced the battery in january, so I dont think its that. Anyone have any good ideas? Any help feedback is appreciated. Thank You.

...try a differet battery from someone else's car that is working fine then go from there.

If it starts, then it looks like you are going to the store for a new battery.

Check the ground strap on the starter for massive corrosion. I assume you drive it in the winter since you replaced the battery in january?

A simple voltage check of the battery before and while cranking the engine will let you know the battery's status--that it was new in January does not necessarily guaranty that it's performing properly in July...

Mine did that about a month and a half ago. It turned out the factory clamps that attach to the battery literally began to corrode and tear. They looked fine from like 2 feet away but upon closer inspection you can see that it barely held its shape by like a little piece. Not really enough conductor there for the car to use. Also the battery was toasted. So low and behold, replaced both terminal clamps and new battery, and now she starts up wonderfully.

Might have some cells shorted in the battery? Def get that battery tested.
