POW!! Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock-HELP!
Getting on it today, POW! starts bogging down on high RPM, Feels like the AIR/FUEL R is Fubar, WHen it idles it idles rough, Thought i heard some knocking, so i got under the car and i swear its knocking from the Standard Tranny. I can feel it with touch. The KNock sound comes from UNDER the car, not the Motor bay, My Tranny has been ridin rough lately. Now i can hear my tick come from my tail pipes. Motor sounds ok though????...WTF please give me good news, Tranny fried i guess is good news, just not my motor. Possibilities?
Rod? (How come i can still drive it relatively ok)
Dropped a cylindar? (Sparkplug)
Do trannies KNock?(I cant hear the knock when i rev up because the car is loud, I dont think the Knock increases with rpm"s)
Help?

if at idle when your car is Cold it does NOT knock but then when it Warms up at idle and then DOES Knock,
then it is most likely a Rod bearing! Sorry bro. I do hope it is not but if i were u i would let the car start and warm up and listen to your idle and u will know if it is a rod bearing.

LOL @ doug's comment...I was thinking the same thing, but this is more legible than most haha. I'm definitely feelin it's the motor, not the transmission. If you can hear it while the car is not moving-it is obviously not the transmission since you have a stick. Since it is not heard from above the motor, but below, think of where the rod bearings are relative to the vertical location in the engine...They are at the bottom half on the crankshaft. Who knows man, start with the easy stuff at least, like pullin plugs, compression test etc. I can't imagine what else would be making noise, unless it really is coming from the top of the engine, in which case a cracked piston would be in order. The plugs will tell that story.

Probably blew a rod. It's possible for it to still run. I had a 2000 Corolla, the rod let go, and the piston looked like a pancake, yet it still ran OK. Well enough to drive it around a field and up on a trailer.

Well Im hoping its the Torque Converter. I can feel the knock in the tranny when i physically put my hand on it, its intermitten and dosen't increase with RPM's. My fingers are crossed.

Is this a joke? Your sig says you have a Short Throw...which means you have a manual transmission, which doesn't have a TC...soooo....wtf? Might be the throw out bearing though...
