Default 98 Gt Died While Driving

Ok now Im driving the car down the highway about 55 mph and it shuts off . I figure its out of gas being the gas gauge ,read it was low. I go get some gas put it in now it cranks but will not start. Just cranks and cranks . When it shut off there was no sputtering or anything just quietly shut off. I was having a hesitation problem with it earlier this week now this. Could it be the fuel pump or something else?

wait you ran out of gas?

if you DID, and you added more gas and the car will not start, look in your trunk, there is a switch for your fuel pump, you have to reset the pump or whatever

fuel pump could have overheated. Could be failing and the lack of gas in the tank to cool it didnt help.

@quik00 random dieing while driving could be IAC sticking -- well more specifically coming to a stop with no load... should start right up after it does that, if it doesnt start up after that, try openin the throttle a bit? maybe its stuck? if it is that, spray some carb cleaner into the IAC.

@OP i would start with fuel, you said you had a low tank before and were having problems with hesitation? i would start with the pump myself - as devongarver said.
