I have a totally stock 98 GT Convertible. Usually I get between 17-18 around town and 24-25 on purely highway trips. Of course lately my mileage has sucked because finding parking has become a 15 minute endeavor. One thing I noticed was in the winter my MPG decreased slightly to about 15.7. Does the cold affect your gas mileage?

hey I'm in the same boat. I have a 1997 GT with a 5 speed, 3.27 rear end. When I first got it, it was the last month of warm weather we had and on mostly city with occasional cruising I got 17-18mpg. It is now around 30 degrees outside average so I get about 15mpg. and by gum YES TEMP DOES EFFECT MPG.... the colder it is out, the more fuel the computer tells the injectors to spray to keep the engine and resultantly you warm... V8s require more fuel to stay warm than other engines....
I can't wait until it's warm again. I loved saying I got 18mpg with a v8... haven't taken 'er on any highway trips, but I am looking forward to the mpg result from that
o well a few mpg for a few months of winter is worth the toasty warmth...
have a great one all

driving at college is killing my gas mileage it makes me want to cry.
the speed limit is 20, pedestrians cross EVERYWHERE without looking or without a care in the world. traffic laws are completely askew!![:'(]
i definitely drop at least like 3 or 4 mpg when i drive a lot on campus and stuff. finding parking takes forever too.

how much of a difference will the K&N air filter make?
my car is a 99 gt 'vert auto.. and i finally decided to check out what kind of mileage i was getting..
so after a quarter of a tank of gas, i drove 50 miles... but the thing is, i drove like a granny! i didn't even press any of the pedals unless i needed to.. so this is really bothering me. on 'normal' driving, i probably get closer to 35 miles for 1/4 tank. what's going on????

99 GT ragtop, cold air box, chip
Wife drives it, gets 19.75 to 20.8 average week after week, I only drive it on weekends and probably under 100 miles, so she does quite well. burns 93 octane also with the chip
and cold for sure affects it.. the GT gets parked for the winter, but my 5.7 F150 drops to about 14 in the winter from 17 qnd the wife's V10 drops from 11.2 to 9.5 during the winter. Wouldn't trade any of them
