Default What is best temp choice for thermostat ?

Was looking into settings on my SCT and saw low fan was at 190 and hi fan was at 200, should I install a 180 thermostat and lower fan to 170 & 180 ? This is for a "nice day" driver and once in awhile to the drag strip car. Thanks guys & Gals !

Those are settings I would expect for a 180F thermostat, the stock tune settings are 214F (low) and 228F (high). I run a 180F thermostat and have the fan set to 204 and 218 (so it doesn't run all the time).

Thermostats are rated by the temperature at which they start to open, the OEM t-stat is a 210F unit, fully open at 219F. The OEM fan ON speeds are based on this. At 214 the t-stat is not fully open but it "looks" like cooling system needs help so the PCM turns the fan on at low speed; at 228 the t-stat is wide open and the system definitely needs help so the fan goes to high speed.

I have no idea why your tune is set as it is, however the values make no sense with the stock thermostat.

Also, keep in mind that at speeds over 33-35mph the fans won't turn on at all, these are values in the tune...
