Default What is best temp choice for thermostat ?

Was looking into settings on my SCT and saw low fan was at 190 and hi fan was at 200, should I install a 180 thermostat and lower fan to 170 & 180 ? This is for a "nice day" driver and once in awhile to the drag strip car. Thanks guys & Gals !

Those are settings I would expect for a 180°F thermostat, the stock tune settings are 214°F (low) and 228°F (high). I run a 180°F thermostat and have the fan set to 204° and 218° (so it doesn't run all the time).

Thermostats are rated by the temperature at which they start to open, the OEM t-stat is a 210°F unit, fully open at 219°F. The OEM fan ON speeds are based on this. At 214° the t-stat is not fully open but it "looks" like cooling system needs help so the PCM turns the fan on at low speed; at 228° the t-stat is wide open and the system definitely needs help so the fan goes to high speed.

I have no idea why your tune is set as it is, however the values make no sense with the stock thermostat.

Also, keep in mind that at speeds over 33-35mph the fans won't turn on at all, these are values in the tune...
