its always gonna **** you off when you have to redo a mod but your going to have to do them reguardless. you could probably hit 500 now with those cams, but the future HP goal you have mentioned you will need some nice blower cams.

get some stage 2.5 blower cams

The valves and springs are different.

[QUOTE=MU71L4710N;7192160]you really need to get blower cams to try to get the power your after. stage 1 na's are not gonna hack it with your HP goals. best to spend the money now before the heads and timing chains are put on the motor then have to pay to have it torn down and rebuilt again.[/QUOTE

I know I should know better than to ask this, but could someone tell me, in a nutshell, what exactly " blower cams " are? Of course I know what a cam is and what it's function is in the engine, but I am blown and I am looking to up my HP to the 500 rwhp range next summer. How much HP, ballpark, would I stand to gain using blower cams with the set up I now have?
Thank you gentlemen, for answering my question.

Blower cams have a smaller overlap. When you use NA cams in a FI engine boost escapes through the exhaust valve during the overlap.

Nick at MHS sells ported heads with matching cams that have already been degreed he really knows his stuff and his prices are very good. I used his cam degree service, he looked at my combo and told me I needed more compression for my cams to really work. Boy was he right, the car is a lot stronger than I anticipated. Check out his web site modularheadshop dot com its worth a look.

Good luck with your build!

Actually springs are the same, Patriot has used 3 totally different springs and retainers over the years in their 2V heads. Their current heads they use the same porting for the Stage 2 and Stage 3 and just change the intake valve and seat.

1.84" intake valves of the Stage 3 will only work good on a minimum 0.020" overbore motor.

Thanks Oxford, you have answered a question that has been bugging me for some time... With my Paxton 2000 and everything else I have on her, do you think I can wring out another 25-40 rwhp outta her? That sure would be nice.
What can I expect to pay, parts and labor?
Anybody that can get 700+ hp outta our units knows what he's talking about in my book.
