FUEL PUMP QUESTION

FUEL PUMP QUESTION
If i have a dual fuel pump setup and one pump went bad would this cause a lean situation and possibly blow the engine. Would this be a reason to go with a one pump aeromotive setup? Thanks

it would be like running a single pump. but if that pump alone cannot support your hp, when you run under full throttle, it will run lean because that pump cannot pump enough fuel. your fuel pressure will drop under heavy load too. if you ran the car at part throttle, the single pump would be ok until you get the 2nd pump fixed

it depends on how much power you are making if one pump can "do it" or not. If one pump can supply enough fuel to not go lean under 3k rpm, then you will prob be fine GRANDMA driving. Going past a cretin point will def make you go lean, leading to possible detonation.

Am i risking damage to my engine if one went bad. I run a supercharger and it may make a difference if i go with a single aeromotive or dual walboro setup

My setup can make 600+ hp. I bought a kit that has 2 walboro pumps and am wondering if that was a mistake. I spent 7k on the engine and dont want to ruin it. I keep hearing about people going lean and blowing there engine so it got me thinking if i should send it back and do one bigger pump.

Ok is this setup even on the car? It sounds like you're in the process of completing the build. If not what is the car actually making not what It can make or is capable of making. Its hard to say how much fuel system you need without knowing how much power you have or plan on having 600+ is far to vague of a statement to expect precise answers.

No, its sitting in my garage. Right now its at 450 hp with a d1sc procharger but will be boosted to 600+ once i have the money for the install. I am asking this because i dont want to chance blowing my engine if a pump goes bad. I also have a truck and the pump on that recently went and would not start. It got me thinking if one of the pumps on the stang went and i was not aware of it could i possibly blow the engine, I was thinking maybe i should go with 1 pump because if that went bad at least it would not start an i would know it and not blow the engine.

I dont think its to vague. I just would like to know if i have 600 hp and a 2 pump setup and one dies will i possibly blow the engine. If so would i be better with 1 pump. I spent alot on the engine and dont want to ruin it. Thanks
