Default 5.4 swap

I'm thinking about doing a 5.4 swap on my 2003 Mustang GT and I was wondering if later down the road there would be room under the hood to turbo charge it? Thanks in advance for any help.

the 5.4 is just a taller block compared to the 4.6(longer stroke.) so the engine will sit a little taller and a little wider. hope this helps

i was thinking about doing the same thing as you the deck height is higher but you can get a intake manifold that will be able to let you keep the stock hood. there are people out there running a turbo 5.4 so it is possible .
not to get off subject but i was wondering if the trickflow heads will work with the hps intake on the 5.4?

the 2v 4.6 and the 2v 5.4 use the same heads and are interchangable

if the hps intake fits the 4.6, you will need adapters for it to fit the 5.4 nomatter the heads. if the intake is made for the 5.4, it cant fit the 4.6. all the heads that are for the 2v mod motor, have the same intake pattern on each head. the difference on the 4.6 and 5.4 is the deck hieght resulting in the heads being spaced wider apart

Also I'm not worried about changing hoods I'm probably gonna do a shaker hood scoop anyways. And if anyone has done the 5.4 4v with a turbo how much did you end up spending?

cant tell you anything on the turbo part, but all 4v modular heads from 96-04 will work nomatter if they came from a 5.4 or a 4.6
