Question trans wines in 3rd & 5th

I bought a 03 mustang GT 5 speed with 48,000 miles on it and I notice it wines in 3rd and 5th very slightly, is that common?.

It's whine with an "H".

3rd is typical, in 5th it should be fairly quiet...

You should change the tranny oil, use 3.2 qts per TSB 04-15-6. The spec calls for Mercon ATF, but any ATF meeting that spec will be fine--I am a recent convert to Mobil 1 ATF, after using RP Synchromax for 60k miles...

You have the T-45 transmission made by either Borg-Warner or Tremec depending on your car's date of manufacture--the factory spec is also Mercon ATF (3.1L, 6.6pt)--I would use the Mobil 1 in that as well...

Ok, so is the Mobil 1 ATF synthetic or conventional oil, is it ok to run synthetic though out the drivetrain?.
