Default widest/tallest wheel i can fit...

im gettin a ford 9" for my 1999 mustang drag project. i know you can fit 17/10.5 and 18/10, but is there a way i can fit some beefier wheels? The car is gunna be around 900 horses. Using slicks, not drag radials. got upr arms.

Are you mini tub, full tub or are you stock wheel wells? Stock 9" or fabbed 9"? What length is the axle?

Stock I have a 275/60/15. I had to cut the fenders for launching at the track. I'm on a 15 by 8 wheel

at the moment, stock wheel wells. and its going to be a fabbed 9 inch. Dont know how much to shorten the axle yet cuz im still figuring out my wheel/tire situation. I was hoping to keep stock mounting brackets for a few things in the rear end. How much can be done with the wheel wells without messing with the location of mounting brackets

If your building a stock suspension car you can mini tub it. Other then that your pretty much limited to a 10" wheel.

If I were you I would stick with an 8.8. At 900hp you won't be making near enough power to justify a 9"

Yeah i don't think you need a 9" either, just upgrade the axle shafts. I fit 315-35-17's in my rear and all i had to do was pull in my exhaust pipes... If i rolled the fenders and got a .5" wheel spacer i better i could have gone bigger too.

hmm interesting... just get like 31 or 35 splines?
i guess that would be easier too cuz the 8.8 should bolt right in place of the 7.5, correct?

and to be honest i haven't done any work with wheel wells yet, so how would you mini tub it?

also i wouldnt have exhaust pipes.
so with the mini tubs, and no exhaust pipes, and keeping stock suspension brackets, any ideas on what size could be used?
