noise when shifting hard

everytime im trying to gun it and go to throw it into 2nd there is a grinding or clicking noise, do u guys know what this is-am i letting off the clutch to early or is there something wrong with my gears. thanks...

l'm not sure but l think your transmission needs a fluid change.
