I'm getting ready to cam my '01 GT.. I want a pretty big cam so what else do I need? such as roller rocker arms, bigger pushrods, or what? Also, what's the best cam and set up? I've got CAI and SLP loudmouth exhaust.. Thanks in advance.

Unless you notch the pistons, and/or modify the intake valves, you won't be able to run large cams. Are you planning on more than just the cams?

Well, if it just cams that you plan on doing, i'd go ahead and have the pistons notched and change the intake valves. Call Nick at Modular Head Shop, and he'll set you up. He's kind of like the "cam guru" around here when it comes to the 2 valve mod motors.

Ok, no pushrods and CamS, plural, as in more than one. You can barely stuff a stage 2 cam in, provided you degree them. Stage 3 means notching the pistons. I agree about MHS.

My friend had the same mentality. Jammed the biggest cams he could find in his 01' GT f'd up his whole motor and the car is still sitting. I never understood the logic behind going too large with camshafts, it is not necessary for good results.

get some books on this stuff before you post next time. and learn more about the car. cams are not an afternoon bolt on so you may want to go with some other things until you learn more. the 4.6 motors dont have pushrods as they are an over head cam design. you will need springs to match you cam and a shop to install them it sounds like.

+1
especially since money isn't an issue... spend some of your time learning or pay a mechanic for his time to do it
