I know theres a million threads on exhaust, i have checked many forums but i can't find the answers i need. I have a bbk o/r x and regular magnaflows at the moment, I got rear ended and my tailpipe got bent so im thinking of getting a new exhaust i have been thinking of changing to borla stingers. I want my exhaust to be loud when i want and if theres a cop behind me i can throw it in 5th and not make too much noise. Is there a tame side of the stingers or are they more like lm1's? will i have drone with 4.10s on the highway? ive watched numerous youtube videos but they dont do the justice, and seeing how we are buried under snow in MA i wont be able to hear borla stingers in person til june at least lol. So anyone with stingers chime in please and preferably 2v cause i know 4v+stingers= sooo loud thanks.

Ive got stingers with an o/r x but ive got 3.73's and when I got into 5th in the city it is completely quiet. But thats rare for me to do when im going like 45MPH. On the highway there isn't really any drone at all.
If you drive conservatively you can definitely keep the noise down but their still pretty loud in general. Pretty much everywhere I go when I get there people told me they heard me coming.

The best thing about borlas is that they sound like sex when on the throttle, but you can make them sound pretty dead quiet by letting off. At idle, and part throttle, they are pretty quiet compared to a lot of other straight through muffler designs.....but at WOT, they are extremely loud running with an o/r pipe

A buddy of mine has stingers, long tubes, and o/r x pipe on his 2 valve and it sounds great. I've driven it on a few occasions and there is no drone to speak of. It's not crazy loud while just driving around like LM1's or even my SSS Terminators.

Why do you think i have a catted pipe with these mufflers

I had an O/R H with my stingers for about 9 months........you had to basically yell at the person in the passenger seat when cruising on the freeway LOL

At WOT, I have never heard a louder exhaust combination on a 2v with stock manifolds. Made my buddy's bullitt with LM1s sound pitiful. I actually met him because he could hear my car coming from a few blocks away and he came outside the store he worked at to see what car it was making all the noise LOL

Haha borlas are loud but it's not that loud. At WOT they are very loud but on the highway it doesn't really bother me that much. I just turn my radio up kinda loud and its all good.
Or maybe I'm just used to them by now. Cause usually when I drive my car after I haven't seen it for awhile it seems louder for the first couple of days.

I think you just got used to it kinda like I did. After a while, I just got used to yelling to talk to passengers in my car til I swapped my stock pipe on to pass smog and it sounded like stock to me. Cruising the freeway at 2500rpm is definitely loud with an O/R pipe and almost any kind of muffler especially a set of stingers. At WOT, it was retarded loud

thanks guys and bladerunner i bought my exhaust setup in '07 so i've had it for a long time (exhaust add) and i want change. the magnaflows do sound really good but i want something a little louder. i will just buy the borla and if the cops give me trouble i will just put some cats on because i really love the sound of stingers

I've got Borla Stingers and the BBK o/r x-pipe and it is loud when you want it to and quitens down a lot when you are just cruising. I absolutely love this setup!
