Default Awful squeaking noise.

Gentlemen,

Within the last two months, this problem has gotten worse. Basically, the minute I start my Mustang, you can hear a squeak, sort of like a loud mouse, that seems to go in time with the RPMs of the engine. I don't believe it's the belt, because I just replaced it right after I bought the car in October. If I drive for more than, say, half an hour, it'll die down and eventually go away. Whether or not the clutch is in or out doesn't change it. It seems to be completely related to the engine. I keep hearing "throw out bearing" thrown around about this, but how do I narrow it down to that? It's getting annoying and nearly embarrassing to drive the car around like that.

Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot.

Yea, does it go away when you depress the clutch?

Take a little bit of dielectric grease on you finger, and dab it on a section of the belt. Start the car and see if the noise is still there. If not replace the belt and check the tensioner
