Uh-oh, an oil leak has made itself known, any thoughts?

tasting it won't hurt you, but I recommend against using it to mix drinks, try gatorade instead.
So, if anyone has had this done, are we talking $300 or $400 or in the $1000 neighborhood. I have a great mechanic that I use and he can usually knock out jobs in a lot less than what the book calls for, but I'm getting a little nervous about it now the more I hear.

I just noticed mine leaking when i jacked up the front of the car, it was dripping good from a gap at the drivers side oil pan next to the bell housing, once i put it back on the ground it stopped?? What could this be. This is a 2004 GT Convertible
