Default Cat back v. shop build

My car has an x-pipe and Mac mufflers. After the mufflers it just dumps straight down. It had this set up when I got it and while the sound isn't to bad from the outside, it is loud inside and I'm getting too much exhaust fumes in the car. I have been to a couple of shops to see about running the pipes out the back like they are supposed to be. I found a guy that seems to know what he is doing and he said they can put just pipes on it for about $250 and for a little more they will include new flowmaster mufflers too. Part of the problems with the Macs on the car is they are 3". I have been told there is not enough room to run 3" pipes over the axle without hitting something. SO I guess my question is should I just have him do the work, or is there an advantage to getting a Cat back system for more money and then do the work myself. I am leaning toward cheaper and somebody else getting dirty on this one.

Like MCxQubed said you could do a brand new SSS cat back for around $370, or buy used for cheaper yet. Personally that's what i would do.
