Default Break in time?

Currently the engine in my 97 Mustang GT is getting completely re-done. Every single thing in the engine is going to be different, Bored out cylinders, pistons, etc. The only thing stock on it is going to be the block. How long will i need to drive it before i can, well put the pedal to the floor?

I just rebult a 97 bottom end for my 03 and the way that I broke it in was to drive it for about a half hour running up to about 50 mph and letting the engine lug down to around 20 mph in second gear...this lets the rings seat properly. Then I changed the oil and Im currently putting about 500 miles on it while not beating on it too bad...then Im going to change the oil again and it should be good to go...oh and the first oil that I put in it to break in the rings I used conventional oil, not synthetic...also Im running a little thicker conventional oil this time until 500 miles...then Im going to switch to synthetic...

my engine builder for my 331 basically told me if its gonna go itll go soon, might as well find out the fun way...

that being said, the way assembly/honing technology has come along these days, go beat the hell out of it, do an oil change at 500 and 1000 miles with REGULAR OIL!!!!!!!!, cut the filters open to look for any metal shavings, after words every 3000 with whatever you want and have fun!!!

What if you don't break it in with conventional oil. Is it too late to break it in with 200 miles on the new motor with synthetic oil?
