Default Speedometer Recal placement?

I've got a 96 GT, and the previous owner put some larger than stock wheels on it, from 16" to 17". The speedometer seems to be dead on however, so I'm assuming that he put a speedcal on there. Or would the wheel size difference not cause that dramatic of a change? If he were to have used a speed cal, where would it be placed?

I have mine under the inside of the center console directly in front of the shifter location
Fits perfect and you'll never see it
