Default 2003 Mustang GT will not stay running

I have a 2003 mustang GT that will not stay running my 17 yr old son was clicking the key to on and off quickly several times and now the car will not stay running. It will start up then immediatly all the needles will peg out and the car will die right after that. It will stay running as long as I keep my foot on the gas pedal. Does anyone know or have had this happen to them cause car was fine until the flicking of the key quickly from off to on back to off like 10 times. Did that burn a relay, fried the fuel pump or fuel relay? Please help dont have tools to test the fuel pressure. Seems kinda funny that the car will stay running as long as my foot is pressing on the gas/throttle soon as I take foot off it dies immediatly. O yes as soon as I started the car for the first time after the back and forth of the key I got an immediate check engine light but have no scan tool either to see the code. Thanx.

Am I having fuel problems, relay problems, or leaking air?

You need to buy, borrow, or steal a scan tool--the CEL (actually SES on our cars) is trying to tell you something. The gauges sweep when the PCM is confused, or fuse 21 (5A) under the dash is blown--though this should not prevent the engine from idling...

Try one of the FLAPS, they may let you rent a scan tool, or let you borrow one if you leave a deposit...

Best thing to do is find someone who has a scan tool. If you have a fellow mustang buddy with like an sct tuner handheld he can do it for you. If not check your local auto parts store to see if they can rent you one

10 minutes is plenty, the shop manual says "more then 5"...
