Ur internals of ur mustang will tell you how much boost you can run. A cobra mustang is 32 valves and have better forged internals that can handle a higher boost. A 16 valve GT has cheaper internals and cant handle higher boost.

U will b fine with 11 pounds of boost on a GT. U should not go over 15-16 pounds of boost on a GT. My car right now which is a GT is running 13 pounds of boost. Havent had an internal blow out of any kind. Car is runnin perfect and I can get on the throttle.

Ok 1 the cobras do NOT have "better forged internals than gts" because GTs don't even have forged internals. From 1994-2004 the ONLY cobras that had forged internals where the factory supercharged 2003 and 2004 cobras, all other cobras 96-01 had a 32 DOHC head with the same "cheaper internals" the GTs have with the exception of the crankshaft, it is very clear you really have no idea what you are talking about no offense.

Agreed on the bad info there.11psi should be fine and for 600 you can easily have your car put up on the dyno and tuned. I got my chip and tune for 750 so find out if its a flash or a chip and decide from there.

dont the mach 0nes have forged internals? any way my cobalt had hyperthetic pestons and i ran 20 lbs of boost and had no problems at all. stock they have 12 lbs, stage 2 s have 15 lbs. why cant the gt handle that?

In part NO. the 5sp Mach1 has a forged crank and a higher redline than the auto mach one so the forged crank helps support the higher rpms. but even with that forged crank in the 5sp the rods and pistons are not forged. Isnt that cobalt ss supercharged from the factory? factory built supercharged vehicles are built to handle boost that would only make sense. the gt,mach1,99/01 cobra are not factory supercharged vehicles so they can handle boost but have their limitations with the factory internals. Now a 03-04 cobra, shelby gt500, thunderbird supercoupe all factory supercharged and will handle boost alot better than their cousins/brothers bc of the simple facts stated above.
