Gas Gauge/odometer questions
Hi,
I just recently bought my first mustang it is a 96 gt. I have noticed that the gas Guage will register only when the car is off. When the car is started up the gauge registers over full. One other question to while I'm thinking of it......the odometer nor trip work any suggestions on where to start?
Thanks,
Ryan

First off, Welcome to the Mustang Forums.
In regards to your gas gauge issue, I'm guessing some sort of fuel level sending unit has died on the pump/tank, as these cars read various amounts on the gas gauge with the car off. I think someone else would have encountered this and has a fix.
As for the odometer, it's about a 99% chance the stock gears have rotted away and the teeth are chewed up either on the cog or the worm gear, either way Late Model Restoration carries just the parts to fix this: Odometer Gears
And here is an AMAZING guide for installing this: Install Guide W/ Pics
