How do you guys not notice this??? It took a noise to notice it, not even a loss in braking power first?

There is a thing called general maintenance and check-ups....

I regularly check the thickness of my pads when I check tire pressure, rotate tires, and when I'm washing it I always check while I'm cleaning the wheels...my rears started squeaking a bit and I changed them 2 weeks ago. Believe it or not, the fronts didn't make any squeaks or grinds until about 3 days ago, and the outer pads still had PLENTY of meat on them, so I never thought to check the inners till there was a light coating of rust on my wheel after it rained the other day and I knew metal was coming from somewhere cuz aluminum wheels don't rust...took the wheels off and found this! I was quite shocked it didn't make more noise, and I never really noticed a significant drop in braking power... I'm usually more on top of things...

Man, that had to be close to showering the highway with sparks.

Which reminds me, it has been a while since I have laid eyeballs on my inside pads too.

hahaha! Rotor! let's just say it's a good thing I had an extra set of factory Ford rotors in my basement that I've been using for mock-up on my '71 project that were in really good shape I got off a parts car a while back...

How could you even let that get that bad, it had to be grinding and making all kidns of noises for a while before it got to that point, time to go for a hearing check.
