On the bikes with a new motor your suppose to run a new motor for 500-1000miles and I also heard you're suppose to run the old dino oil for breakin not synthetic oil.

I change mine around 400 miles. I was told per MMR not to use synethic motor oil until 6,000 - royal purple ever since.

everyone is going to have their own opinion/strategy. I really dont think it matters all that much when you put synthetic in after a few hundre miles honestly, especially if you are running a blower. The rings seat almost instantly with boost.

Ive always been told to never break in a new motor with synthetic. Not sure if it is a Urban legend but dyno oil is cheaper so I'm OK breaking in motors on the cheaper stuff

instructions from my MMR sheet said after first 500 do the first oil change.

once i get my car streetable again and i can put some miles on the thing, i plan on doin dyno oil every thousand (dino oil) until 3-5k then swappin to the Purple... doubt the dino oil is really needed, just figure its 1 less thing for them to try and blame should i have any warranty problems... not that i expect to...

dino oil is WAY cheaper lol. when i first put the oil in my car it was like less than 10$ for 2 gallons...

I have broke in more then a few motors. I always change out the oil at 200 and again at 500. Then go to normal OCIs. I always drain into a clean drain pan and look at it too. You would be surprised what's in it.

As often as you care to do it, can't be changed too much on a new engine--I like BLKSTANGER's plan except I'd add a change at 1000, then 2000, and then every 2500-3000 as long as you own it.

My grandfather told me 45 years ago, "Oil is cheaper than engines"...
