A convertible won't sound the same as a coupe for a couple of reasons that are strictly related to the car and not the sound system:
You have a soft top which will absorb a lot of the sound waves rather than bounce them back to you;
Taking that you have the speakers in the trunk, you have a dead space between the trunk and the back seat (where the top fits when it is down). You need to be able to port the sound past this and into the passenger compartment.
