im planning on building my 99 gt , but i really want to keep my 5 speed tranny, now my question is , is there any build kit for this type of trannys that can make it hold up to a 1000 hp, if anybody know let me know thanks

astro performance makes a few kits to handle A LOT more power than stock

from what iver heard the T45 is a better platform than the 3650 for higher hp applications

the only thing i dont like is that you cant change the 5th gear ratios on a T45 like on a T5...

id LOVE to swap in a T5 with a 2.95 1st gear and a .79 5th and go tear up some road courses...

Go t 56 y would u not want a 6 speed...n if.u need it good for 1000hp ur more than likly turbo in which case.u should be goin with a built auto...

thanks for all the replies guys , im gana do my research base on ur information, but i rather lower my hp by 100 hoerses and not go auto , i hate it , so what about the 6spped tranny , i know stock it hold 750, but upgrading it whats the most i could squeez out of it.

IM sayin turbo and auto are like peanut butter n jelly they go together. A 800whp turbo manual car is going to get bet by a 800whp auto.

yeah thats true man, but its a personal thing i cant stand an auto tranny , i like to trow gear like a mad man , lol , its just me man

1,000 hp and T45. No way in hell. I blew my upgraded T45 with a mere 330. Best bet for a T45 is a 26 spline input and a Promotion HD rebuild kit. Might make it handle 550 regularly. If your sole concern is a 5 speed for that much power get a faceplated TKO600.
