msd 2 step

Default msd 2 step

i just got one and had a few questions about installing it..
is there a way to hook it up so its not always on?
or any suggestions?

Just put a normally open SPST switch in the activation wire; either the white or blue/white, whichever you use. Then mount the new switch in a convenient location--if the new switch is open the 2-step will never activate...

hey, cliffy, i know this thread is a few months old, but how would you go about wiring one into a 96-98 with the coil packs? and do you need an ignition box to use one of these?

and what p/n should i get for one?

I don't know, I have had only very little to do with the non-PI 4.6L Mustangs, and have no documentation for them other than a Haynes manual, which is dubious information at best--however I suspect MSD can be of great help, contact them...
