Exclamation weird idle / electrical issue

Noticed this moments ago in the drive thru.

-Car at idle.
-rpms get lower
-bog down to 500rpms
-Volt meter flicks low then normal, 'fast flick'
-lights dim
-idle picks back up, lights bright again.

repeats every 30 seconds?

also I have another issue that may be going on with this 1st one.

i was driving on the first cold day we had. Noticed my thermostat was reading warm just below normal but no heat coming from vents. I turned off fan ****. Thermostat sky rocketed to middle position then fell back down to sub normal. since then the gauge has not gone to the middle where it should normally be its always reading cold as if my thermostat broke in the fully open position. I swear I heard the fans kick on tho the other day. Shouldn't they only kick on when the temp gauge goes past half way?

Thermostat and Alternator are one year old.

Tomorrow I am going to unhook my subs hot line. The sound system has a short in it and the subs go FULL BLAST when I go over certain bumps or make right hand turns hard.

please help

Yeah it's seems tough to get answers around here. I still can't see pics of cars that are for sale...Looking to buy, cash in hand.

As for your issue I would be looking at the battery, cables, bad grounds, alternator/belt.
