can a coyote engine even fit properly in a new edge? Would the wiring be fuked and none of the speedometer etc work right? Different transmission needed?

OP, nice motor, GL and enjoy

EDIT, found from another thread to swap to a 5.0 you need

"crate motor , k-member , ecm and wiring harness from FRPP , AND KOOKS Headers is making headers for this swap , prob $15,000 range"

EDIT, and to the guy saying your 1500 dollar motor will blow by him.. post a link to this motor. can it handle 750 hp? i dont think so.

no it wont handle 750hp, will the OP's car handle 750 hp either? no...

do you have any idea what it takes to set up a car to handle/support that much power?

and the OP makes no mention of having a blower right now, so yes, $6K is a WASTE when both my and kugz's PI swapped/cammed cars will blow his out of the water...

and no i cant post a link to my motor, you can look up my build thread because i actually can do things on my own and not just write checks out...

That coyote motor will so good 750 HP. Uses almost the same aluminum block as the gt500 making 550 HP stock and plenty of them make 750 HP no problem so I don't know where you get that block handle that kind of power

With that thing being low compression, the extra displacement is gonna make 0 diference, and it will probably feel like a dog, plus OP never said he upgraded cams I dont believe, so its basically a low compression stock stroker... sounds like itll be pretty un responsive until it sees some boost..

and SN95 built one helluva motor for the amount of money he's got into it, its gonna be pretty nasty.

Default Yep your right, and when it sees boost I can set it to make 750RWHP AND it will live

You are right, I need a supercharger and it will run at 750RWHP all day long. This guys a douche and needs to go on a honda forum and fight with them. Go to MMR's websight and get some schooling. This is only the first step for this motor.

Default I first looked to buy a new 5.0 and found it was going to cost $15 000 at least

I first priced out the 2012 5.0 and found it would have ran me twice the price and I would have made more power from stock, like 400 out of the box. The cost was around $12 000 dollars and shipping and all sorts of other mods that were costly in them selves, Ford actually persuaded me that I should get ahold of MMR racing and that they build the fastest mustang in North America and that they build kick *** motors and that they have been following them for years. My MMR Forged motor is going to run around a stock hp right now and i opted for the lower stock compression ratio for future supercharging becuase high compression motors can not take it and will lock up and have catastrophic failure at a certain point. I only want to run 5-600hp eventually and with an MMR motor I can hit that like nothing and it is bullet proof. So in the end, buddy dissing this motor is just a **** and doesnt know his **** nore my plan for my build. Merry Christmas guys have a nice December.

What's with all the haters in this thread? No need to get in an argument about how the OP spent to much money. Some people don't have the time, tools and or knowledge to do work themselves. If everyone was a mechanic no one would be in business making short and longblocks.

OP, congrats and good luck with your car.
