Don't make the same mistake I made.... I bought almost every mod you can think of... probably at least $6000 worth, and it netted me less than 50hp. If I had to do it all over again I would get het SuperCharged from the get go.... same $, about 5-6000, but crap loads more power.... I was putting down 277rwhp with all the mods you see in my sig before I got her SC'ed, which gave me more than 150rwhp. gears and SC'er, forget all the other crap for now.

I certainly would not put it near the top of the list, but a buddy of mine just took his stock '01 Bullitt up to JLT for a day because JLT wanted to do some final testing on Bullitt with their newly designed CAI. My buddy stood and watched the process all day and the JLT gained 10rwhp over the stock vehicle that only has a K&N filter in it.
I love to hear the guys say that a CAI isn't worth any gains because the factory intake is a cold air already. The factory set-up is better than many of the older configuration, but I know the JLT does improve power... and it has been proven before and after on a dyno.
A DD that will see drag strip usage... I'd install 4.10 gears and a STS first.

I'm just starting out modding my 2000 GT. After a good amount of research, here's my initial plan:
1. Exhaust
2. Gears(4.10)+Tuner
3. CAI
4. Throttle Body+Plenum+Spacer
5. Wheels+Tires
6. Springs+Shocks+Struts+Sway Bars
I may end up getting the CAI before the Gears. But everyone seems to really stand by gears as the way to go.

Definitely get the tuner first, then cold air intake, gears and underdrive pulleys, Then go into the exhaust with catback, midpipe, headers and intake manifold. No real need for throttle body unless your over 500hp. After these you have to go into motor. Suspension is also a great place to start.
The car comes with a cai. Buying a new one does NOTHING, but make your wallet lighter! If you don't want that money, I accept personal checks and paypal.
Op, answer Jazzers question. Everyone who wants help, answer jazzers question, then ask how to obtain your goals.

Just curious if you have any real-world (ie...not provided by the manufacturer) to back this up? Both of my local tuners say that they are pretty much worthless for gaining any sort of HP, and it seems to be the consensus among most 2v owners I know. Not trying to be rude, just would like to see some before and after numbers with just a CAI added.

My buddy is a very intelligent guy and he stood and watched the process as it occurred at the JLT shop. They did in fact do a couple of bone stock pulls (Chris did have a K&N filter, but that was all) and then they installed the newly deigned CAI and pulled several more pulls without any other changes. The net gain on his '01 Bullitt was 10rwhp. Even if the gain was only half that much, it is as good a gain for the money as most other mods ($50 per RWHP).
I do know that my car put down 253rwhp with only a JLT CAI, BBK O/R H-pipe, and Steeda UDP. Most of the '01 Bullitts put down 235-237rwhp in bone stock trim. 253rwhp is 16-18rwhp gained in total. There is no way for me to know how much each of those 3 mods contributed to my gains.
As I stated, I would not put it near the top of my mod list, but as you improve the ability for your motor to flow air... I would absolutely add a JLT CAI.
