Default motor swap trouble

I did the pi swap with 24lbs injectors and comp 270 cams car started but would not run right. Now it won't start at all I'm thinking it flooded?? I know I need a tune but would a tune cause it not to start. The motor did start on the first crank. I just don't know..

^ do this, and your car will struggle to idle until you get it tuned mine did pretty bad.

I built a new motor and installed them when the motor was on the stand. I did degree them.

without a tune (or calibrated maf to temporarily correct), those 24lb injectors could cause the car to run rich.

tho i highly doubt its flooded, there is a flood clear mode you could try, or you could just pull the connectors off the injectors...

how did you install the cams? were all the pistons lowered (crank pulley key way at ~10.5 o'clock position)? if not you could have bent a valve on the first startup. check compression.

i did evrything buy the book when i installed them i had the crank in "safe mode posistion" ( 90 degrees to the passenger side, stated in the book i have and by modular head shop) i did check PTV after i degreed them. i just got back from a weekend vacation and tried to start the car and it started several times but as expected the car just wont idle with out a tune.i guess i was just freeking out after all the money spent

what were your PTV measurements? and you should have to intalled them at least -2* or else youre gonna have nice little eyebrows in your pistons...

it was a while ago but, I do believe I came up with .020. When I was doing my cams i refered to the modular head shop web sight. Nick has really good write ups. the car is starting every time now it will stay running if i give it some fuel but wont idle till i get the tune im waiting on
