'96 cobra alternator on '02 4.6?

i got a '96 cobra motor sitting in my garage, my Mustang died on me on the way home from work today, first time stranded on the side of the road ( no fun ). i was just wondering if i could snag the alternator off my cobra engine and put it on my '02 4.6L engine?
