so my stock 04 gt is finally now my hobby car, bought a truck as a daily driver now. i would like to start building up the car but don't really know where to begin and need some guidance.......id like to start drag racing it but still be able to drive it on the weekends once in awhile. so i dont really know where to begin to tell you the truth.

i would like to build up the motor and supercharge her but not really sure about running spray....

Forged shortblock and boost!

But seriously, gears and a tuner would be a good place to start.

dont get 4:10s if you are going to have a ****load of HP,

the max 1/4 mile trap speed with 4.10s and not going into 5th is like 108 mph..

dont even get gears imo. Go straight to the good stuff, forged motor that can handle 800+ hp then drop in a beast of a turbo or SC setup. , while putting in the motor do long tube headers etc... Then play with that for a while, some parts may break like clutch, transmission, upgrade those, upgrade differential and axles if your going to drag race.

serious, gears just arent necessary imo especially if you have a ton of hp

Don't waste your time with a supecharger. Turbo all the way.

LOL

If you want to go f/i, you should get some 3.73 or 3.90 gears, start building up a solid drag suspension, and invest in some good drag radials. Set some money aside for the f/i kit and build up the engine to handle boost.

Op, you may get a better response if you give us an idea of how much money you're looking to put into the car... Good luck!

I say first think about what your goals are for the car...if you want a 500rwhp car it will take a lot less than a 700+ rwhp setup.

To build up the ride, you will want a stout shortblock, a nice flowing h/c/i setup, a nice f/i setup with one or two cooling components, a supporting fuel system...and of course with all of that will come a beefed up rear, tranny, bolt ons, etc

Mine started with a cold air intake underdrive pullies throttle body and plenum. Then some better tires and the i lowered the car with some bbk gripp suspension parts. next im getting 3.73 gears and hopfully a tunner. I like where mine has got me. the suspension is really good around coners
