Emergency Brake Light will not turn on!
Hi all,
I have an 01 GT and the parking brake light won't seem to come on. I had an issue a few weeks ago where the light would stay on even when driving. The fluid was low, so I put some in. Come to find out, my rear brake pads needed replacing bad. I replaced the rear brakes and the fluid didn't overflow or anything, but it was pretty close to the top. The brakes function normally, and the parking brake holds the car. I was wondering if the light not coming on would have to do with too much fluid maybe? I don't think it's the switch because it was just working before the brakes were done. The light also illuminates on the dash before you start the car, so the bulb is good. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There is a switch in the center console, below the parking brake lever, that connects to the GEM, which in turn connects to the instrument cluster and controls the parking brake in use indicator--it tends to get crapped up after 10+ years.
The fluid level switch also connects to the GEM, it should not be activate by "too much" fluid as it is shown as a SPST switch on the schematics; a normally closed switch held open if the fluid level is sufficient.
