Default Sunfire engines from Autozone?

Anyone have any info on Sunfire engines from Autozone? I have an 01 Cobra right now with a knocking engine, im going to upgrade to an 03 Cobra Engine (with no supercharger, just internals) and use my factory intake and extras. I have a few questions about this swap if you dont mind taking the time to answer a few questions!

1: The engine is a longblock Sunfire Reman engine, anyone ever owned one before? Do they last pretty well or any complaints?

2: Would the parts i need for the swap from my current 01 engine interchange with the 03 Cobra engine? (sensors, intake, pulleys, etc)

3. Is there a better company out there for builds that I could get a 03 Cobra Engine for no more than $4,000?? Ive talked to Jasper and they dont build you an 03 Cobra Engine unless you currently have an 03 engine

Are you planning on doing a power adder on this engine? Do you know that the engine you will be purchasing has lower compression.

The only reman engine that ive heard of that seems to have a big following is Jasper, never heard of sunfire.

I will possibly be supercharging in the very near future. I'm debating whether to fix the tod bearing in my engine or just go with the new 03 block but it's very expensive. I'll check out mmr

ok, Ive found an 03 Cobra engine without the supercharger. So ill be swapping over parts from my 01 Cobra. Has anyone ever done this swap before or know what it entails? What parts would i need to switch over from my 01 engine? Do I need to have the ECU reflashed, 03 Fuel system? Im sure ill need to do a tune. Only paying $3100 for the 03 Cobra engine.

Are you buying the 03 engine because you are convinced it the is the best engine out there. I just don't see the point in buying a low compression engine and not using it with any F/I. Sure you said probably your gonna supercharge it but we all know that means not any time soon
Anyway is it a long block or short block you are getting? if it is a long block swap over your intake and fuel rails and put it in your car.

Well I'm already looking at a couple of superchargers for the car, found some really good deals but I figured I'd wait for a few months to buy one and see how this engine does NA. I don't want to go invest $2500 in a supercharger and the engine strt knocking shortly after.

Just as a PSA... you have broken the internet record for biggest sig. Probably outta make that a little smaller unless you want to annoy the hell out of everyone...

Nice looking car though. Good luck with your build. I've heard nothing but great things about MMR.

+1 to what BraMas is saying. Figure out what you want to do before you start dropping $$$ only to wish you had gone another direction.
