Default No bass

My car's mach audio system has no bass to it. I've got the bass turned all the way up, and still it sounds tinny and hollow to my ears. This is coming from generic cars I've had in the past with equally generic audio systems, so I haven't been spoiled.

Sound is coming from all the speakers, I'm an audio noob and don't really know what to look for.

you really shouldnt expect much bass out of a stock audio system. if u want bass i would go out and buy an amp and a subwoofer

My old dakota and my old mazda 626 had way more bass to them. They both were all stock, and both lower end models. I'm no audio enthusiast, nor do I want to go thumping down the road, but it just seems like something is off. My fiance's little nissan sentra puts my car's audio to shame. haha

If you want more bass than what the factory system is pumpin out add an aftermarket amp and a sub. That will bring the sound out! Some ppl like factory cars and dont upgrade them. Some ppl like the factory system others upgrade them if they are not satisfied with them. IMO I thing you should take advantage of the large audio aftermarket out there. Doesnt have to be expensive amps with huge subs but a decent sized amp and a 10" or 12" should change the sound a bit to solve the problem.

Hmm, well performance and appearance come first in my book. I'll get around to sound eventually. I just thought something might be wrong with the system. But I guess if they are all pumping out sound it's all good. I guess the mach 460 is just pretty weak.

I quick google search of "mach 460 no bass" turns up tons of results with symptoms very similar to mine. Most said one of the amps may be bad. Not sure how to test for that though...don't even know where the amps are.

i personally love my mach 460 because it has no bass, clear sound through the speakers and a nice bump from a sub

IF you do have amps it will be the two silver box shaped things on each side of the hard plastic factory box in the trunk. Have you put your ears down to the bottom speakers to see if they are actually working?

Mine was doing the same thing and it was the amps. If you take them apart you will see the burnt piece in there. I got 2 replacements off craigslist for $40 a pr. It's still not great but its much better. The amps power everything but the tweets.
