Default Battery relocation kit HELP!

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the forums and just need some help from you hardcore racers. I bought a battery relocation kit to relocate my battery to my trunk for better weight distribution. Here's my issue, the kit came with one red power wire which is supposed to run from my starter to the battery but on my 97 stang there's also a red power wire coming from the fuse box, does this mean I actually have to run two separate power wires to my battery now in my trunk or can i join the two at some point so that i only have to run one wire to my battery? Your help is greatly appreciated guys!!

Big power wire to the fuse box from the battey and a small wire from the alt to the battery. Both should run thru a cut off switch.

Ok, ket me get this right, so the big power wire from fuse box to the battery and the alternator wire to the battery should both run through the cutoff first and the starter runs directly to the fuse box right?
