Hi,

I have a 02 mustang gt vert with all stock exhaust and 5 speed. I'm going to swap out stock mufflers for some aftermarkets. I don't have the coin to change anything else. Since it’s a convertible, I don't want the drone so I'm looking at resonator types. Looking for deep throaty tone, thinking of SSS or m80. Don't want to be obnoxious loud but a nice non stock tone. Any help would be appreciated.

Million threads on exhaust. Its person preference. Youtube holds an array of exhaust clips. Check those out. I like flowmaster 40 series. The next guy will like slp's. And the girl after that will like magnaflows. So best idea is check out some youtube clips or go find a good sounding mustang. Stop em and say...dude thats a bad ride. What kind of exhaust is that. Then go buy some.

listen to clips and see what YOU like not the next man or woman. Who is the sexiest woman in the state of texas???? Purely opinion with no one answer you feel me. listen to clips and its up to your ears what sounds good to One person may sound like a$$ to another.

I have a full MAC exhaust, and it definitely has more drone than I would like in my vert, but I do love the sound of it outside. Not sure how just the muffler would sound. Let us know what you come up with, and how the drone is. Good luck.

I was running just the magnaflow catback (not the magnpack) for a while and it sound nice and had very little drone

Appreciate the advice about you tube. I've already been there and doesn't help to much. I'm just looking for advice from people that may have just swapped out mufflers on their mustang and what they thought of the type and brand they used.

I went from factory mids with original 40s ran that for 5 years
then went with Mac o/r x with the original 40s for a few months
then went with mac o/r x with str8 pipe that lasted 1hour(obnoxious)
then the 40s went back on
after than high flow cats were addded
after that glasspacks replaced the 40s for a fe months then the 40s went back on

and finally I went with the 10 series flows and im satisfied with it current setup is mac x with pypes highflo cats and 10 series flows no plans to change it at all now.

to be honest youre not gonna get much better than youtube except real life, a lot people like 40 flows so you can start there
