Rear End Problem?

Rear End Problem?
Got a 2001 Mustang GT (auto) and just finished lowering it today (my old car is in the sig). When I took it to get an alignment the mechanics said that there is something wrong with the rearend when one of the guys took it out for a test drive, he said it was noisy. He said I probably didn't notice it because I could have gotten used to the sound.
At first I just thought that it was road noise, but after driving for awhile that's all I can hear is mainly road noise or "whirring" sound. When sitting it's quiet, and no noise at all.
There is one issue I am aware of: when I'm driving close around 40 mph and suddenly let off the gas the car jerks hard. But only if I let off quickly, when I let off slow then it shifts fine (maybe a very faint jerk).
So before I let the mechanics go investigating, does anyone have opinions on what's going on? Is this something urgent?

Sounds are subjective. You will hear different things then the next guy. Get another opinion on the rear end. Is what you are feeling when you let off the gas the tranny down shifting?
When Im going down an off ramp I can feel my tranny down shift into 2nd pretty good. When it does it it feels normal to me. Im a truck driver with a few million miles under my belt. Im pretty good at hearing and feeling things that are not normal. The auto trannys we have are designed to shift for best gas millage not best performance.
