2002 Mustang issue Bat Light and checking oil
2 issues i need help with:
my battery light is on. i replaced the alternator some time ago thinking it was an issue but light still on. my battery is good and the alternato is as well. bat voltage 12.57 not running and running voltage 14.2 indicating good charging. even after sitting 2 or so weeks the bat starts it up great. what else could be causing mt bat light to remain illuminated.
next is checking the oil. my dip stick juts doesent indicate right. even right after changing oil i can never rely on dip stick reading IS there a trick for proper dip stick readings.
thanks
chris

Not sure about the V6 (as this is the 4.6 V8 section), but in the V8 the oil fill level was changed at about the time your car was made. So maybe your dipstick is from the old settings instead of the new?
The bat light is powered strictly through the alternator/voltage regulator... so either something is wrong with that, the bulb, or in the wiring.
