Hello all i have a tick in my engine it is a '99 cobra 4V. It started when i had a spark plug blow out and some pieces fell in the cylinder. Tick sounds exactly like a lash adjuster. i have checked the adjusters and they are all very solid. ticks only at idle below 1200 rpm, hot or cold, with or without load. nI can tell it in the engine

Now my question is when my spark plug blew out and the pieces fell into the cylinder. What is the most likely thing that happened? Bent a valve, scratched cylinder wall if you guys can point me in any direction that would be great.

This car has been to the stealership and they couldn't figure it out. I also can't find a mechanic familiar with this engine.

Maybe someone can tell me a way to make sure my engine is safe to drive and i could just live with the noise
