found this old thread on Google. This guy is having the same exact issue that I am having after installing 4.10s. Looks like this may be an issue with any stock autos with the 4.10s. Seems to be the Torque Converter locking up.

I guess I'm a little confused about what you want from your car.
Installation of 4.10 gears implies to me that you want the car to accelerate harder. A new tune from BAMA will be set up to provide better timing curves for power and quicker/firmer shifts for less lag between gears. If the jerking that you describe is what I have always experienced with retuned auto trans, then I suggest it is fine and leave it alone. If that jerking is too harsh, then you may want to just get the trans tuning removed so you get the old wishy washy shifts back.
The fact that it won't upshift below 3000rpm makes me think that something is wrong with the tune. This condition should have nothing to do with the fact that you now have 4.10 gears.
Keep us updated on how this goes for you.

Yes, that was the last thing I think I saw from him, but he was still questioning if the shifting was in fact wrong or if it was supposed to do this.
It sounds to me like he is desiring a faster car without any loss of comfort or harshness. Reality is that typically doesn't happen. Always a trade off with performance upgrades.

OP, with 4.10s from a dead stop, if you stomp on it, you should be able to completely break those tires loose, and HARD. I mean nothing but spinning, and it should do it all the way through first gear and DEEPLY into second gear... so if it wont do that, (you stated it feels extremely sluggish from a dead stop). Manually put the car in first via your shifter, and do it again, watch your tach, and about 4500-5k push your shifter forward one click.. and it should still be spinning through the shift.... for an example of how 4.10s should respond in your car..
when the car had the 4.10s installed, was any other work done simultaneously? trans fluid change etc? It seems weird that all of a sudden your torque converter is locking up almost immediately... mine usually doesnt lock up until im to full cruising speed for a second or two...
Keep us updated and let us know what BAMA does to your new tune. it's something with the computer, and from what you have described I dont think it's something mechanically wrong/broken.
