Default Brakes

Hi, i wanna make a little upgrade to my 2001GT:

I have two questions:

1.-What do you think to make the upgrade to Cobra's calipers + rotors?
2.- Upgrading only the stock rotors and pads for this kits will work fine for me?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PWR-K1301/

I was talking with a friend and he tolds me that making the upgrade to cobra's brake kits will not make a BIG difference that i could spect

I want to know whats are your opinion about this...

PD.. sorry for my bad english!!!

I personally think the cobra brakes are great. I discovered I had them last week. Just bought the car about two weeks ago. The red calipers behind the Bullitt wheels look great to me. They also have great stopping power. I posted a few questions last week about brake pads. Found them at Auto zone for about $56.00. Good luck on your decision.

Rockford... The Cobras offer VERY LITTLE over a proper upgrade of the OEM brakes you already have Take a look at Brakes Upgrade (sig) and save the money you would otherwise spend on tires, if you need them. After all, the brakes are ONLY as good as the tire that meets the road!

Jazzer welcomes you to MF's

I have seen this kit installed and they LOOK very nice due to the increased diameter rotors.

However, a LARGE majority of your braking power comes from your front brakes so attempting to "upgrade" your rears will provide little improvement, if any, in your braking ability.

Apply that money to the basic brake system upgrades listed in JAZZER's brake guide (pads, fluid, solid lines) and see if that satisfies your braking needs. ONLY if that doesn't address your needs, would I invest large amounts of money into larger brake upgrade kits.

GOOD LUCK!!!

How much are you paying for the calipers & brackets? Did you find a set yet?

They're pretty expensive online lately. eBay has them for about $400 for just the front calipers and brackets.

your brake lines will work. There is a write up, like I said.

Also, here is a link to some brake lines.
