Heres the situation. I am currently running 15x9 (yes, custom made 15x9's, its not a typo) with a 5.5 backspace and a 275/60/15 in the rear. I removed my quad shocks and am lowered on a pro kit, but I am getting some pretty deep cutting on my driver side rear (I guess from my weight on that side). I'm thinking that keeping the 5.5 backspace and going to a 9" wide is the cause of this. So, I have a fender roller. But, I am considering going with 15x10's with a 6.5" backspace and a 295/55/15 tire. For anyone that runs similar sizes and setup, do you have rolled fenders? With a 15x10 and a 6.5" backspace on a sn95, do I still have to roll the lips on the quarter? Or will the difference in the backspace solve my problem? Like I said I have the eastwood fender roller, but am just nervous about cracking the paint.

I've heard yes and no to this one. It seems like a few guys do have issues with a bit of rubbing. I would guess that it depends on the tire brand (seems to be the only real difference between those who rub and those who don't). That being said, it means it's gonna be dang close even if you aren't rubbing.

I attempted to roll mine yesterday, but stopped because I didn't want to crack the paint

Why did u stop? Was is starting to crack?

This might be a dumb question, but is it cutting on the sharp inside edge of the fender, or is the tire beyond the profile of the well - so it's rubbing the actual flat edge?
Do you have a pic of the car from straight behind it showing the tire in relation to the fender edge?

well, Heres some pics with the tool bolted on:









Basically, I spent a good 3 hours playing with this thing, every setting possible. I could get it aligned with the lip, but it was just pushing it straight out and I didnt want to go crazy doing that. When I finally got it to aim the lip upwards, there wasn't enough play left to further push the lip up.

I really think the reason I'm having a problem is because of the rims being a 9" with the 5.5" backspace. I think I am either going to have to sell these and go with a 15x10 with 6.5" backspace and hope that I dont have rub..

It almost looks like the tire is making contact with the whole turned under lip. You might still rub even with the inner edge bent up.

I have never seen one of those tools. We always used a baseball bat. Use it against the tire for leverage and go to town. The inside lip needs to be folded up so it can't cut the tire. Go look on youtube. There are a few videos.
