RUMOR..C&L to make alum lo
i was looking around and found a forum about C&L making a alum lower intake manifold for the 4.6L 2V. its rummored to be around 500 to 600 bucks. cheaper than anything out there right now. don't remember if they said anything about HP gains, i will have to remember where found that at and post the link.... i think its a decent price for something that is more reliable than that plastic piece of $hit, and for something that will get a some kind of gain. <edited><editID>WHT00GT</editID><editDate>37967.3318171296</editDate></edited>

Well, they mention in on their site - when they talk about the development of the upper intake plenum. I've asked them directly, and they've been non-commital about the project - no surprise there. One tech commented that it won't likely be much more than an aluminum version of the stock plastic unit with minor shortening of the runners and improved flow. The rumor mill I'm plugged into says the price will be $699-$799. Take into account that you need the upper plenum as well ($199), and it becomes a $1000 unit - still between $300 and $500 less than the other options.</P>
IMHO - If you're not running a blower, I just don't see the point. And even then, I could get more from a $1000 stage III valve job - plus I can ramp the boost a few more lbs. Not saying I would'nt do it - just saying that under most applications that the stock intake isn't really that bad. Again, IMHO...</P><edited><editID>Patterson</editID><editDate>37967.4585763889</editDate></edited>

i think i am going to wait till they test that fox lake intake(P-51) on a heads/cams combo and see what gains are produced. 25hp on stock GT isn't too shabby. i want to see some hard numbers on paper before i spend the $1200 for their setup. </P>
