auto or stick, its pretty straight forward for a manual trans and a rear end, remove drain plugs and fill plugs on both, re install drain plug, fill trans and rear untill fluid level reaches the bottom of the fill holes, re install fill plugs.

Sorry yeah it's a stick. Well that seems pretty straight forward, thanks! Any reccomendations on which fluids I should use anything I shoul look for other than the obvious metal shavings. Also are there any additives I need to add. I remember with my 93 5.0 used to have to add a limited slip additive.

A much easier way to fill the trans is to remove the shifter and fill from there. Using the fill plug can be a bit of a pain. It takes 3.2 qts of Mercon V atf; Mobil 1 synthetic atf and the GM synchromesh atf are also great fluids for it.

You will need a friction modifier for the differential too.

transmission fluid change is DIY, but i thought DIFFs are not to be messed with anything other than a trained hand?

Changing the diff fluid isnt hard. Just remove the bolts holding the cover on and remove the cover, slowly, witha drain pan underneath it. clean gasket mating surfaces, install cover with new gasket. Fill with gear lube of your choice, about 3 qts, (i like mobile synthetic) add friction modifier and done.

I had Amsoil put in with both my trans rebuild and 4.10 gear install. Highly recommend it.
