i initially want to say the radiator isn't enough but I had my car from 50,000 miles to 95,000 miles in central Florida and it never got hot on me down there. Only after it had 140K some miles did it ever become an issue. I keep in mind that this is a budget car with most aspects of it designed to be a cheap as possible at least for the v6 anyway. the GT really should get more upgrades but then again , what price tag would we be ok with?

All my cooling issues were solved with a new radiator which is basically easy to do and not THAT expensive and probably expected after 150K miles for most cars that are a v8 and driven spiritedly.

DId you end up going with a budget single channel rad or something beefier like a 3 channel?

Exact same issues on my 96. 90 MPH with AC on was getting to the a in normal. I'd turn off the AC and temp went down. Bought an aluminum 3 core off e bay and it never goes to the middle of the gauge any more.an aftermarket water pump that pushes more coolant would benefit as well. Stock radiator on these are junk

The radiator I bought is a KOSpeed. I paid $145. Bought off ebay. I dont know the quality of it because I only had it for about 2 weeks. No major modifying was needed. Just had to move the abs bracket a little. If you have an auto you'll need a transmission cooler. My car was originally from New York, so I dont think it ever got the cooling upgrade the 96 Mustangs from the southern states got.

i know it sounds really stupid but i had the same issue. check you resuver, it is prob low on water/coolant. it sounds dumb but sometimes its the simple things that throw us a loop
