Default 1997 mustang GT hp/tq

My friend has a 1997 mustang gt manual. these are his mods.

2.5" or/x mid pipe
Flowmaster 1 chamber cat back
4:10 gears
Cold air intake
93 octane tune

How much hp/tq should he be expecting with a custom tune when he goes to the dyno? Also he said something about getting more power by advancing timing, how do you do that?

exhaust - 10 hp
CAI - 2 hp
tune - 5 hp

these numbers arent set in stone. different people have different results all the time because of so many variables.

expect 17 - 19HP with those mods and the best of a tune. also why 93 tune? is his compression adjusted to require 93?

4:10 gears are really going to help more than anything I think for better 0 - 60 time. youre looking at 230~ depending on if he had 205 or 215hp stock.

car should be good for mid 14s

Not much there is going to boost HP. The 93 octane tune isn't going to help anything. That is only needed if the compression has been bumped up. My guess is 10 HP gain.

I don't know much about non pi motors but i'd guess 205rwhp. Again that number could be off by a little.

You're looking for rwhp & rwtq right. The 97's had 215 hp at the flywheel and about 170 rwhp.I know Cobra frenzy has a 97 GT.I'm not sure what bolt ons he has but I don't think he saw 180 rwhp.
